Work with me

Senior product leadership for health and care, in the shape you need it.

Whether you're between product leaders, facing a decision you can't afford to get wrong, or building a product function for the first time, I can work as an interim leader, a part-time adviser, or a fixed-scope second opinion.

Based in Northamptonshire · Remote or on site in London and Cambridge · Further afield by arrangement

Ways to work together.

Interim leadership

3–6 months · full or part time · ends in a handover

For organisations between product leaders, mid-restructure, or changing direction, that need someone senior in the seat now rather than in six months. I lead the team, own the strategy and the senior relationships, and leave you with a stronger function and a clear brief for whoever comes next.

“Emily hit the ground running, gaining a deep understanding of the needs of the business and the strengths and weaknesses of the team incredibly quickly.”
Alex Green, Director of Product and Technology Delivery · Clinical Partners

Fractional and advisory

1–2 days a week · 3 months or more

For founders and leadership teams who need senior product judgement but not a full-time leader yet. I work alongside your team on strategy, prioritisation and the operating model, coach your product people, and am on hand for the decisions that matter most.

“She extremely quickly grasped a very complex and evolving situation in terms of business strategy and the market, and produced a data-driven, pragmatic product strategy and roadmap to help the business navigate this.”
Katherine Middleton, Co-Founder, Almond Digital Health · worked in Emily's team at Clinical Partners

A second opinion

2–4 weeks, fixed scope · written recommendation

For a decision you can't afford to get wrong. Typical shapes:

  • Programme review: is this programme still worth doing, and if so, in what shape?
  • AI readiness: where AI is worth it for you, where it isn't, and the governance you'd need.
  • Strategy reset: who you serve, what makes you hard to copy, and what to stop.

Permanent roles

Hiring a product leader?

I'm open to the right Director, Head or VP of Product role in health and care. My CV sets out my experience and where I do my best work.

See my CV

How to start.

  1. 1

    An initial conversation

A free 30-minute call to understand the situation as you see it, and whether I'm the right person to help.

  2. 2

    A short proposal

The outcomes we'd aim for, the shape and length of the engagement, and the cost.

  3. 3

    Agreed outcomes from day one

We agree up front what success looks like, so we both know what good looks like and when we've got there.

Where I'm a good fit, and where I'm not.

A good fit

  • You build in health or care, or another regulated, safety-critical space.
  • You want to be challenged, and you enjoy working a problem through with people who see it differently.
  • You care about outcomes and evidence more than output.
  • Teams where people can be open about how they work. I'm neurodivergent myself, and I've seen decisions improve when a team designs for different ways of thinking rather than simply tolerating them.

Probably not the right fit

  • You want a roadmap executed exactly as it's been handed down.
  • Product exists to justify decisions that have already been made.
  • You want AI adopted for its own sake, without clinical safety in the loop.

Fair questions.

What's the difference between interim and fractional?

Interim means I'm in the seat, leading the team day to day for a defined period. Fractional means I'm a senior voice for part of the week, working through your existing people.

Do you only work in health and care?

It's where my experience runs deepest, but the problems travel: any regulated or safety-critical product, or any organisation sitting on data it isn't using.

Where do you work?

I'm based in Northamptonshire and work remotely by preference. London and Cambridge are easy for me to reach for regular time on site, and I can come further afield with a little flexibility. I'm also used to working with teams across different time zones.

Can you be hands-on?

Yes. I was a software engineer for about five years and I still build, mostly in the lab, so I can prototype, read the code and evaluate AI tools first-hand. It also means I can help find an architectural way through when the platform is holding product back.

Will my organisation end up as one of your case studies?

No. Client work stays confidential, and I never write or speak about a client's situation without their agreement. The case studies on this site come from my employed roles and are anonymised.

Are you open to permanent roles?

Yes, for the right Director, Head or VP of Product role in health and care. My CV says more.

Let's talk.

Tell me a little about the problem and I'll reply within two working days. Everything you share stays confidential.
